Welcome to my blog!
(They said I ought to do one of these, so here goes..)
April 2013
Hi Swing Fans! I am pleased to say I am very busy at the moment mostly singing at Weddings, which I always love doing. I had a very pleasant surprise recently at a wedding on the 30th March at The Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot. I was singing my second set of the evening for the Wedding Reception guests and I noticed a very attractive lady keenly watching and listening to me and enjoying my performance on the edge of the dance floor
Anyway after a few songs she came and shook my hand and was very complimentary. It was the pop star 'Duffy', who was one of the wedding guests'. Well after I finished singing my second set we had a nice chat and I thought what a lovely person she was - I mean she didn't t have to come over and say hello and of course it was really nice to be appreciated by a fellow singer, especially a successful pop star. We had a photo taken together, which I will add to my website soon. It was a really good night and everyone enjoyed the event - Especially me!
By the way I do still have some dates available to book this year so please get in touch as soon as you can if you are interested in booking me as more and more dates are coming in now and being confirmed. Much appreciated.
I am performing at a charity event this Saturday in Tenterden, Kent and as well as singing two 45 minute sets I am also providing the music for the evening as well, which is another service I can offer. I am really looking forward to it!
Please do get in touch if you have any questions you would like me to answer. I am happy to help and there's no obligation to book.
Bye for now! Best wishes

Feb 2013
Hi once again! Just to let you know I recently added a new video, found on 'Joe's Video Page', of me performing at a Wedding Event in 2012. Please take a look - it was taken by one of the wedding guests and is only an amateur video and the sound quality is not fantastic but you can clearly see that everyone is having a good time, dancing and letting their hair down!. This is the most important thing to see, which will be the same for your event if you are thinking of booking me.
I often forget to ask people to video me or take photos of my performance so it's good to have a video of me performing live in an actual wedding reception event!
I have a number of weddings and other private events booked in now for this year so if you are thinking of booking me please get in touch and book as soon as you can as the dates are coming in a lot more now we are getting closer to the the Spring and Summer wedding season.
I look forward to hopefully taking your bookings for this year still or next year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions -I will be pleased to help and advise on your Big Day's Entertainment!
Bye, Joe Swing
Jan 2013
Hi everyone. First of all I would like to thank everyone who booked me to sing at the various events I sang at during the Festive season during November and December. I look forward to hopefully singing at your venues and at your Xmas events this year. Also New years Eve was another successful night at the Bridgewood Manor Hotel in Chaham where I was re-booked from the previous year. It was a great night for everyone and I appreciate all the nice feed back from the guests, whoever you are for the lovely comments after my performance. I hope to be there again this year for more dates so book your tables early to ensure a space.
I am looking forward to performing at the Weddings I have already been booked for this year and other private events. I still have availability for dates this year so please get in touch if you would like a quote or need some more information about what I charge and what I can offer. Well that's all for now. I will write another blog soon!
All the best Joe Swing
Sept 2012
Thank you very much to everyone who booked me to sing at their Wedding Receptions and other events this year so far. As Sinatra would say, "It's been a blast"! I have enjoyed everyone of them! (Please see some of the very nice testimonials I received for these events on my 'Testimonial' page)
If you would would like to come and see me I will be appearing at the fabulous Bridgewood Manor hotel/resort this December for several dates. This is open to the public so you can come and enjoy a great night with a Rat Pack theme and have a lovely diner and dance the night away to the sounds of the resident DJ.
I do still have some dates free this year - so if you are interested in booking me for your event, what ever it is, please get in touch. Also I am taking booking for next years weddings etc and already I have a number booked in - so please let me know about your event asap. Cheers, many thanks.
Well all the best and I hope to meet you at the Bridgewood manor this December or at another event and hopefully yours!
Bye for now. Joe Swing
July 2012
Hello everyone. Just to let everyone know I have been busy performing during the last few months performing at various events so haven't had a lot of chance to sit down and write in my Blog. But everything is going well and I have added some lovely new songs to my repertoire including L.O.V.E, which is a beautiful Nat King Cole song I was asked to learn especially for The First Dance at a wedding I sang at last weekend in Kent. Great choice for a wedding! I will certainly continue to sing this one! It was very well received and I have had a lovely email from the Bride and Groom to say thank you. (Please see 'Testimonials'). Thanks very much to Nicola and Richard for such nice comments - I really enjoyed performing for everyone!
I also performed two sets at a Frank Sinatra Tribute Night in a lovely Restaurant in Elham nr Folkestone recently. It was nice to sing all Sinatra songs as I love singing his songs and I got to sing some songs I had not sung in a while, which was very enjoyable. (Glad I remembered them).
I have also sung at a number of Weddings and other private events all of which I am pleased to say went down really well!
Of course the wedding season is now underway and I will be busy during the next few months performing all around the country mainly at these type of events, which I love to do as they are always pleasant and people are in good spirits. Anyway enough of my waffling.
By the way I have been re-booked I am very pleased to say for say for several dates including New Years Eve during December 2012 at The Bridgewood Manor in Chatham, Kent for their Rat Pack Theme nights. If you would like to come and watch me perform and have dinner there please contact them. These are very popular nights and they do get booked up quickly so if you would ike a table I recommend contacting them sooner rather than later. Please come and say hello!
Well bye for now and I will keep you updated. Cheers

Feb 2012
Hi Swing fans. Yes I know it's about time I sat down and wrote something again! I am pleased to say I was busy over November and December 2011 performing mainly at Xmas Parties but I also performed at some Weddings and Birthday party celebrations. I'd like to say a big thank you to The Bridgewood Manor in Chatham, who booked me for a number of dates in December including New Years Eve. I was very well received and they have asked me back again this year.
Also I would like to say a big thanks to Mr & Mrs Preston who booked me to sing at a big Birthday bash at Hemingways bar in Wimbledon Village earlier this month. It was a great night and it is the second time I have been booked by this fun & lovely group of friends!
I am still taking bookings to sing at Weddings in 2012 and other types of celebrations so please get in touch if you are looking to book a singer!
I have added some new and really good songs to sing at the various events I do this year. I am really looking forward to singing them. They include Splish Spash, which is a Bobby Darin number, Let's fall in love, which is a great song for Weddings sang by Sinatra and one of my favorites to really get the crowd lively and dancing - Papa Loves Mambo, sang by a number of the greats including Perry Como, Dean Martin and Nate King Cole. Any way all the best and I will let you know how things are going again soon.
Oh yes I was asked to go on the TV Show 'Come dine with me' back in January but I turned it down - It's a fun show to watch but I wasn't sure about going on there! Bye!
23rd October 2011 - Thanet Rotary Annual Dinner Dance
Hi everyone. Well here we are now in October with the wedding season over now. I still have a couple of weddings booked in this year but recently I have been performing at other types of events such as Rotary and Masons events. I went down really well at a Rotary event very recently where I was booked for after dinner entertainment. I sang for one hour on this occasion and I was very pleased to see so many people up dancing. They are a jolly bunch in Thanet and I am not just saying that because I come from there. It's always nice when you get local gigs!
I am getting booked up now for December Xmas parties but still have some dates free if you would like to get in touch to book me.
All the best for now

27th September 2011
Hi again. Well since I last did my blog a few weeks ago I have been very busy perfoming at Weddings, a Golden Wedding Anniversary and a Beauty salon - Yes a Beauty salon!
I must say I always enjoy performing at all the various events I am booked for and last weekend on Saturday was an unusual one. Infact a first for me. It was to sing at a Beauty Salon. I must admit I was'nt sure at first what I was letting myself infor because it was also outside the premises but luckily it was a lovely sunny day and I really enjoyed it! (It had nothing to do with all the lovely beauticians there honest.)
The salon is owned and run by a wonderful lady called Mima and this was her way of saying a big thank you to all her loyal clients and customers. I performed two 45 min sets, which went down really really well - not only with the clients but with the passersby, who gave me the thumbs up as they were dancing, and carrying on with their daily business. Some were taking photos and videos. Infact I felt quite a celebrity! (I hope I get more of these type of bookings.) A great idea!
There was wine and cakes and a choclate fountain and during the day as well as me singing there were treatments and demonstrations going on. I am pleased to say it was a big success and a fun day had by all!
I must say all the staff were great and it's very well run. The business is called 'PURE' in Jersey Farm, St Albans - so if ypou are in the area go pay them a visit!
I had two gigs that day. As well as singing in St Albans I also performed in the evening at a wedding reception at the 'Abode Hotel' in Canterbury, Kent. (Which is not far from home). This was another very pleasurable event. I performed for one hour and managed to keep the energy going and it went down very well with lots of people up dancing - especially to Newyork Newyork. Congratulations once again and thank you for your booking.
A couple of weeks back I performed for another lovely couple who had there Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration at Gilwell Park. I have had some very nice testimonials from there family- So thanks you very much for your kind words. I am really glad you all enjoyed it!
Bye for now. Cheers.

6th September 2011
Hi everyone - I have not been back long from my holiday on the lovely Greek island of Corfu. I had a great time and even got up in a taverna and did a bit of singing (Volare actually - there was a lot of Italians there in August. They sang along and enjoyed it)
I did a gig last Sunday in a new club not long opened in Beckenham in Kent called 'The Music Lounge'. On Sunday afternoons they have live Jazz/Swing music. So if you are in the area pop along - it's a nice modern bar with friendly staff. I got the booking because I was seen at a private party (50th Birthday Party) I performed at a month or so ago.
This weekend I am singing at Gilwell Park, Chingford in Essex. It's a 50th Wedding Anniversary. So I have been quite busy lately plus I am pleased to say that I have added a couple of new songs with great arrangements to my repertoire. Which are 'You belong to me' - Dean Martin's arrangement and 'Blue moon'- Frank Sinatra's arrangement. Bye for now!
3rd August 2011
Hi - First of all I'd like to say to those people who like to read blogs that I am sorry that I have not written anything in a while. I am pleased to say I have been busy performing at private parties since my last blog. I have been invited to sing at lots of lovely and enjoyable events and had some great comments about my performances (please see Testimonials page). So thank you very much to those of you who have emailed me with your kind words. It's always appreciated. If you have not and you are now back from 'Honeymooning', please do as I always like to hear from you. For the next few weekends I have Weddings. Anyway, bye for now. Joe

New Years Eve gig was a lively one!
(yes I know I am a bit late in writing this)
I performed at a hotel near London Heathrow to an audience of about 250 guests, singing all the big Rat Pack numbers. The atmosphere was electric and its always a pleasure seeing the people up dancing to my crooning and when I sang 'Mack the Knife' the floor was packed. The DJ I worked with was a guy named James Murphy who was very helpful and did an excellent job keeping everyone on the floor dancing after I finished my set. (I certianly recommend him) Also thanks to all the staff for being so nice.
It's been a reasonably busy year for me performing at a lot of weddings, which I really enjoy I must say. Well I'd like to wish all the clients that booked last year a Happy and prosperous New Year and here's to a busy and safe 2011. Thank you very much.
There are already a number of dates booked in for weddings but I still have a number to fill in so please get in touch and hopefully I will come and sing at your wedding or event in 2011.
Dec 4th Watford
I did a gig in Watford over the weekend - I was very pleased with my performance and it was very well received. Really friendly audience and I did a few extra songs for them including a new one I did for the first time and I didn't forget any words!

General thoughts..
First, let's just clear one thing up - Loads of people have been saying they love the new web site ("thanks") but.. why the cigarette? Well, I'll let you into a secret - it's just a prop! It's one of those fake things but it looks the part!
Christmas and New Year 2010
It's going to be busy again! (I'm not complaining!). Still a couple of dates free if anyone's still thinking about booking something with a "touch of class" (they told me to say it - honestly!)
Summer Season, Margate Winter Gardens

Last night of the Summer Season - what a finale! I've got to say that I really enjoyed working with everyone, from the amazing Alan Daye (Compere/Comedian/Impressionist), Jackie Hart (Director), Phil Hughes (Musical Director), Vince Gardner (Costumes) to all the fabulous singers and dancers including Karen Tarbuck, Steven Poole, Larah Simpson, Georgia Rowland-Elliot, Joseph Hodges, Toni Alder, Ben Carter, James Jones, Paige Duggan and James Relph - and anyone I've forgotten to mention on the technical side - lighting, sound and live music. Thanks for a great time guys! See you all next year!

Sophie and Greg - I hope you are happy forever. It was such a great night, thanks for inviting me and the band.
Sorry I couldn't stay longer at the end - it was such a great party going on and I would have loved to stayed around to see the lanterns launched but I had to get packed up and a couple of hundred miles to drive - well...
Good luck for the future - You guys are meant to be together.
Best wishes,
